1. Are immune desensitisation diets forever?

Firstly, it is important to clarify that immunological desensitisation diets must be varied, balanced and maintainable over time. Generally, if the patient complies with the diet by eliminating the foods to which they are sensitive from their meals, after 6 months another analysis is performed to analyse which foods have been desensitised and thus to guide their reintroduction in a progressive manner.

2. So, am I allergic, intolerant or sensitive?

It is important to be clear about the difference between food allergy and food intolerance. The origin of intolerances is an enzymatic deficit, while allergies can be traced back to an immunological reaction. In both cases there is no apparent cure.

However, food sensitivity, which is produced by a sensitisation of the immune system to the presence of a given food antigen, when this food is removed from the diet for a period of time, the immune system becomes desensitised and returns to its natural state, allowing the food to be progressively reintroduced. The recommendation we always give in our Unit is to eat a variety of foods and try not to repeat the same food too often.

3. Will I lose weight with this diet?

In principle, yes, because it is a varied, balanced and personalised diet based on each patient’s immune response. The first metabolic reaction is fluid loss, so you usually see changes in the first few weeks: less swelling, less fluid retention, a more defined figure and even fat loss. Apart from desensitising the immune system, the diets our Unit uses aim to maintain an appropriate weight in order to arm patients with more resistance, strength and vitality.

4. How should I feel when receiving LIMS treatment?

During treatment, most patients feel absolutely nothing. However, some patients who are very sensitive feel tingling in their hands and feet, as well as hearing noises in their stomach.

5. What happens if I fall asleep during my LIMS session?

No problem at all. In fact, it is recommended for the patient to relax as much as possible as this makes the treatment even more effective.

6. What will I notice after the LIMS sessions?

In some cases, patients feel a little more tired, experience light headaches and are sleepy, but these systems disappear with time (maximum 2 days).

7. Can I play sports after LIMS sessions?

It is recommended that you avoid physical exertion for 24 hours after the LIMS treatment for the relaxation of the nervous system to take full effect.

8. Can I wear make-up?

It is recommended to avoid products containing chemical agents as much as possible since people suffering CSS have a hypersensitive immune system and any external agent may affect it.

9. Could I suffocate with the HHO treatment?

No, the patient is not deprived of oxygen at any time. There are several cycles with different percentages of oxygen, the patient is monitored by a pulse meter that monitors the patient and indicates if we must stop and adjust the treatment.

10. What happens if I fall asleep during the HHO session?

Falling asleep is highly recommended since the patient enters a state of relaxation that favours the treatment.

11. If I am sensitive to milk, can I drink lactose-free milk?

No, because the problem lies in the milk as a whole, including the milk protein. This is why milk derivatives such as cheese, spreads, yoghurt, etc. cannot be consumed either.

12. When I eat out, what should I do?

It is recommended that you eat fresh foods prepared on the same day, and that you avoid fried foods and products that are too processed and refined.

13. What is the most important recommendation in the diet?

Eat a variety of foods, including fresh raw and cooked vegetables, legumes, quality carbohydrates, animal and vegetable proteins, and seasonal fruits. Try to avoid products that are refined or contain large amounts of preservatives and colouring agents.

14. If I am sensitive to wheat, can’t I eat any bread?

It depends on the ingredients of the bread. If it is made from gluten-free flours you can eat it. But it is best not to consume too much gluten-free bread since the immune system is hypersensitive and is likely to become sensitive to them over time.

15. When preparing meals at home, what is the best thing to do?

It is always advisable not to mix too many foods in the same dish, not to eat the same food several times in a row and, above all, to try to eat fresh products, avoiding as much as possible products that have too many preservatives and colourings. These are often made from dairy products, gluten, etc.

16. Will I suffer calcium deficiency if I can’t drink milk?

In most cases, no, as milk is not the only food that provides calcium. A moderate consumption of broccoli, pumpkin, carrot, cauliflower, sweet potato, vegetables, dried fruits, etc., provides the necessary calcium content to maintain normal levels.
